OF&G position on use of feed additive, Bovaer, in organic systems

We have received a number of enquiries relating to new feed additive, Bovaer, and its use in organic systems.

At this point OF&G is reviewing whether this product can be used in an organic system. The regulations do provide details on whether certain products can be used but have in the past been less clear on feed additives.

OF&G’s precautionary approach would be that while we gather necessary information before making a definitive decision, currently we do not permit its use on organic farms.
