OF&G announce
appointment of Steve Clarkson as interim chief executive

OF&G (Organic Farmers & Growers) is pleased to announce the appointment of Steve Clarkson as interim Chief Executive.

This follows the OF&G Board’s mutual decision with Bill Young to part ways after his initial probationary period in the role concluded.

Steve Clarkson has been a key figure within OF&G since 2002 and has held the position of Certification and Compliance Manager since 2009.

He brings a wealth of experience and knowledge of the organic sector as well as a robust understanding of OF&G’s strategic objectives and is committed to ensuring a seamless transition.

OF&G chairman, Richard Thompson says the organisation remains firmly focused on supporting its licensees, promoting sustainable farming practices, and influencing policy to protect the future of organic agriculture in the UK.

“The change in leadership is designed to maintain continuity and stability with the goal of driving OF&G forward,” says Mr Thompson.

“The organisation remains committed to its core principles and to ensuring that the organic sector thrives in the face of evolving agricultural and environmental transition. Steve has the expertise to deliver, backed up a comprehensive understanding of the business.”

As a Community Interest Company (CIC) OF&G must adhere to a formal recruitment process before announcing a permanent appointment to the role of chief executive.
