New CO joins the OF&G team

Date Published: 27/04/2006

Organic Farmers & Growers has added to its highly skilled certification team with the arrival of new addition, Katie Owens.

Katie, 28, is extremely experienced in the field and will be working alongside our producer certification officers, as well as being responsible for the Evaluation Scheme of pre-approved inputs.

With an MSc in Organic Farming from the Scottish Agricultural College, four-and-a-half years spent working with other certification bodies and being a Defra-approved inspector, Katie fits perfectly into the OF&G team.

Katie, 28, said: “I’m really pleased to have joined Organic Farmers & Growers. It’s a really exciting time for organic food and farming and to be part of a team at the forefront of that development is very satisfying. It also helps that they’re really friendly!”

OF&G Chief Executive, Richard Jacobs, said: “We’re delighted to have Katie on the team. Our licensees expect to deal with experienced and knowledgeable people and, like our other COs, she’s certainly that.”
