Helen Browning to take the reins at the Soil Association

Former Soil Association Food and Farming Director, Helen Browning, has been appointed as the charity’s new Director.

Helen replaces Patrick Holden at the head of the SA and will take up her new post in the spring, it has been announced.

Organic Farmers & Growers would like to pass on its congratulations to Helen and welcomes her appointment.

OF&G Chief Executive, Richard Jacobs, said: “I think this is a very good move by the Soil Association. I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Helen for a number of years and she is undoubtedly a good choice to head the UK’s foremost organic charity. We wish her well in the role and look forward to working with her.”

Helen Browning farms 1,350 acres of organic arable and livestock farm in Wiltshire, supplying organic meat to a number of retailers.

She is currently Director of External Affairs at the The National Trust.
